Tribal women selling traditional drink SULFI prepared from Caryota urens, at Mardum village market, BastarIndia. Sulfi is very popular among the tribals. According to the traditional healers of Bastar region the use of freshly collected Sulfi is having many health benefits. The natives consume it during festive occassions. It is popular among the tourist as Bastar Beer. In Bastar due to unknown disease Sulfi plants are dieing. Its population has decreased much in last ten years.

By visiting village Haat or market one can get much information about local life style,culture and food habits. In Indian State Chhattisgarh most of the village Haat or markets are weekly. These markets fulfill the requirement of villagers. In rural areas the markets are having local materials. The markets of tribal regions are unique in all sense. One can see the rare medicinal herbs, the sell of medicinal insects and traditional ornaments.
