New leaves of Charota. New leaves are known as 'Balak Patti' in Indian State Chhattisgarh. The new leaves are used to prepare delicious curry. The natives consume it in little amount as over dose results in loose motion. The natives consume it for taste but the traditional healers are aware of its medicinal properties. The patients having joint troubles and rheumatism are advsied to take the curry. The common natives are also advised to take it during rainy season in order to get protection from such troubles round the year. Charota grows as wasteland weed in Chhattisgarh. It is well known in the state.
