The traditional healers of Chhattisgarh having expertise in treatment of mouth cancer use Bhelwa fruits in combination with butter (Makkhan). They prepare an aqueous paste and apply it externally on wounds. The healers use it at all stages. Its effectiveness has established this combination among them. At advanced stages of blood cancer the traditional healers suggest the patients to take Bhelwa fruit with cow milk twice a day. It is used with much restrictions of diet. In general the healers give it up to two months. In case of less effect they change the medicine. This treatment is given under strict supervision. The patients are suggested to stay with the healers.
