Major Botanical differences between Acalypha species.

PlantAn erect, annual herb.An erect, sparingly branched annual.
StemSimple or with numerous branches, angular, sulcate when dry, slortly crisped, pubescent rarely woody at base.Shortly pubescent with recurved hairs, at length glabrous, striate.
Leaves4-7x3-5 cm, rhomboid-ovate, ovate-oblong or ovate-lanceolate, acute or subacute, cuneate or cuneate-truncate at base.4-8x2.5-3.5 cm; ovate-elliptic or rhomboid ovate, caudate-acuminate, roudned or subcuneate at base, crenate-serrate, membranous.
FlowerMonoecious, in lax, erect, elongate, axillary spikes, maes minute, clustered near the summit of spike; females scattered 3-5 surrounded by a large leafy bract.Indlorescence axillary, solitary or germinate; spikes 1-2 cm long with 7-10 female flwoers at base and a few, sessile, minute males at apex.
FruitCapsule, small, hispid, one-seeded.-
SeedOvoid, smooth, pale brown, about one mm long, very closely and minutely pitted.Ovoid, very minutely pitted.
