[Pankaj
Oudhia’s Comment: Through Ethnobotanical surveys I have collected
information about over 25000 Herbal Formulations in which Saussurea is added as
quinary ingredient. These Formulations are used for treatment of different
types of fever. In over 18000 Formulations Saussurea is added as secondary
ingredient. These Formulations are used for diseases of digestive system. In
over 20000 Formulations Saussurea is added as septenary ingredient. These
Formulations are used for diseases of kidney and spleen. Most of these
Formulations are considered as secret and the Traditional Healers rarely share
complete information about it. In places where Saussurea is not present in
nature the Traditional Healers depend on Herb Traders and vendors for
availibility of this species. Please see Tables Saussurea-1 to Saussurea-300
for details.]
